It’s easy to nod along to the rhythm of school, work and the other aspects of our lives. We often find ourselves lost in the past or focused on the future, forgetting to open a space in which we can experience the present.
For some of us living at the UM FLAT, an upcoming retreat to Goldbug, Idaho, was just a name scrawled in our calendars and another obligation to fulfill. But when we made the time for beauty – when we left our structured lives and immersed ourselves in nature – the to-do lists and daily stresses melted in the midst of grandeur.
Under a sky delirious with stars, we were humbled. It was a reminder that we are but one tiny part of this world, and yet, still significant.
